Cyberjaya
is an MSC designated multi-billion dolar cybercity located halfway between
KLCC
(45 minutes) and
KLIA
(30 minutes). It is to be developed as an intelligent IT city designed for a
population of 240,000 people with about 90,000 living in the Flagship
Development Zone. Cyberjaya possess offices for various businesses and
companies and aims to provide top-quality business and recreational facilities,
housing and supporting infrastructure. By the year 2020, Cyberjaya is estimated
to be populated by about 500 IT companies. Cyberjaya not only aims to be a
sophisticated intelligent city but it also have set a target to be an
eco-friendly.
With such high anticipation for Cyberjaya, essential infrastructures are placed
such as roads, fiber optic cables, power and telephone lines. In addition to
the co-operation with
Telekom Malaysia Berhad
, a high bandwidth telecommunication infrastructure is provided. Although mcuh
of Cyberjaya is still under construction, there are already about 225 IT
companies that have applied for a place in Cyberjaya.
